Well Will.i.am just dropped a legal bomb on Pharell the other day claim his new artist endeavor a band name i am OTHER is far too close to his trademarked i.am. Now, lets get this straight? He trademarked i am? Wait, wait, noooooo - Just like in English Class punctuation matters, no I get it there may be a few mouthbreathers out there that get confused by the two, but the masses? NOPE! that's like if Apple decided "Hey, will.i.am - you're name is using a lower case "i" and therefore we're suing you, because as we all know Apple would win.
Maybe there's some hidden beef between these two artists? Pharell kind of reminds me more of a lover not a fighter, he's just always chill. Infact in a response tendered through his lawyers he said this - "I am disappointed that Will, a fellow artist, would file a case against me," Pharrell says in a statement to RS. "I am someone who likes to talk things out and, in fact, I attempted to do just that on many occasions. I am surprised in how this is being handled and I am confident that Will's trademark claims will ultimately be found to be as meritless and ridiculous as I do."
So, Pharell in light of the fact Will.i.am might be a bit of a sham in this light - I'm hoping you "Get Lucky" and score on this legal debacle. (Yes, that was a daft punk reference, wanna legal fight about it?!"
